Pixie Tilda on snowy roof - Christmas Story collection

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good start to the week. I've been painting up some of the gorgeous new Christmas Story stamps and this is the very sweet Pixie Tilda on the background stamp snowy roof which makes it Christmas here :D, I absolutely love the stamps in this collection, well I always say that and I always do but there's something extra special about the Christmas stamps :).

I wish I'd taken a photo of the card from the side as it's very 3D which doesn't show unfortunately. The window is a die cut popped up over the magnolia background paper (wallpaper) and the little blind I've made using the tiny scallop Magnolia DooHickey die which is then concertina folded. Everything is painted with distress ink and distress ink Markers, watercolour markers and crayons and Tilda is cut out and popped up over the top with the Magnolia Let it Snow sentiment stamped and cut out as well. I've added lots of stickles, white paint and faux stitching to create the snowy night time scene.

I'm entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where this week it's 'anything goes'.

Only a couple more days and I'm off to Sweden for the Magnolia weekend.....I can't wait!

Enjoy your evening :).

Magnolia Open Weekend - 6th-7th October - I'll be there!

Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend and if you haven't already seen the Magnolia flyer above on Facebook or at Magnolia Inspiration web page here it is for all my lovely blog readers.

As you can see Magnolia is having their annual Open event on 6th and 7th October and I'm very excited about the fact that I've been invited to attend. I'll be there doing make and takes and concentrating on creating painted backgrounds (a different background for each day).

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at Magnolia and some of my lovely Magnolia Design Team friends, very, very excited about that :D.

So here is UK Tilda, ready on her scooter for the trip to Sweden (may be a plane will be quicker :D!)

Scooter Tilda is stamped and watercoloured and also paper pieced with paper I made by stamping a union jack flag stamp from an Artimeo London stamp set. The black cab is a Paper Artsy stamp as are all the London road sign stamps. Background paper is by Papermania and I also created a tag using a Magnolia DooHickey tag die and by making a collage with stamps from the London stamp set.

Enjoy your day and hopefully you have some sun....here it's nothing but rain for the last two days.

Pop up card

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good week. A card to share today that I've made for the MDUC challenge of a pop up card and also for Simply Magnolia with an anything goes theme.  I've coloured sweet 'Star Tilda' with pencils on kraft card that I've cut out with a DooHickey tag die.

The pop out element of my card on the inside is a heart cut with a Tim Holtz movers and shapers die from honeycomb paper. There's a DooHickey snowflake die cut and some punched snowflakes and I've rubbed around the edges of the My Minds Eye card with white rub n buff. So that the card with close I added ribbon around the back and under the front panel to tie at the side.

I die cut lots of Magnolia DooHickey poinsettia flowers from white card, painted them with distress stains and layered them up to make the flowers. I added these together with the Tilda tag overa layer of white punched and die cut snowflakes. The background of the kraft base card was stamped with a Magnolia snowflake stamp in black and then it was edged in rub n buff. Lots of gem stones, a chit chat sticker and gingham ribbon for the tag to finish off.

Close up of the honeycomb paper hearet which I outlined with a white gel pen. Tim Holtz has a good tutorial on how to use this paper on this blog.

Thanks as always for your lovely comments, they're appreciated.

Honey

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good week. A card to share today with the very sweet honey bee Tilda and the meadow daisy background which I've masked together.

The painting is distress ink markers and I've add lots of stickles on the flower and Tilda's wings. The die cuts are all DooHickey dies apart from the letters which are sizzix, the fence cut from black card, the thought bubble, a fabric flower cut with the peony dies, and a ticket cut with Tilda's ticket die.

I'm entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where the theme is 'put a stamp on it'
The challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'autumn gold' and I think this card fits that challenge too.

Have a lovely weekend.

Magworts School of Wizardry!

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely Saturday so far!

A Magnolia faux book to share today and using Magnolia stamps to create Magworts School of Wizardry and I enjoyed bringing these two Edwin's and Tilda into my Potteresque scene :D. This is the most stamps I've ever masked together, twelve were used in all, so it took some working out to get the order of the layers of masking and stamping.

The book is an SVG Cuts cutting file, the star tag and black lace at the bottom are Magnolia DooHickey dies, the black title letters are a Tim Holtz strip die cut and sentiments were computer generated. Everything is watercoloured on the scene with distress ink markers, watercolour markers and crayons.

To get a nice even black colour on negative stamps such as the Magnolia skyline houses at the top when stamping onto watercolour paper I to stamp and then go over any mottled or not quite black enough areas with a black permanent pen.

I'm entering my project in the Tilda's Town challenge where this week the theme is 'back to school'.

Late summer walk with a friend

Hi everyone, it's been a typical UK Bank Holiday Weekend so far with a soggy and dismal day here, hopefully it'll cheer up as the weekend goes on ;)! No such weather for Summertime Tilda with bow and Tilda with daisies and mushrooms they are enjoying blue skies and flowery meadows :D!!

As usual, everything is watercoloured with DI markers, watercolour markers and watercolour crayons. A bit of white gel pen for the flower centres and a doodled tree and background. I've used DooHickey tiny zig zag border die cut from kraft card behind the panel, a piece of chipboard painted light blue at the back, corrugated card for the heart and corners, a pretty daisy, chit chat stickers, the Tim Holtz doily edge die cut from grunge paper and painted and twine bows to decorate. This is a free standing panel using the Tim Holtz easel stand die which I cut from chipboard and attached to the back. This was the gift that went with the card I showed yesterday.

I'm entering my panel into the Deep Ocean Challenge blog's theme this week of deep blue.....hope my blue is deep enough? :).

Enjoy your evening.

A grand day out

Hi everyone, I hope you've had a good week and the weekend is off to a good start. A card and it's presentation box to share today which was made for a very special lady who's just had her birthday.

Tilda and Edwin siblings are having a grand day out in the country, sitting among the flowers under the old oak tree :). Everything is watercoloured and background scene doodled in. The swirly roses are hand cut from colour washed thin paper and the Magnolia DooHickey vintage flowers were cut from the same paper. I added lots of pearl pen pearls, faux stitching and a handmade background paper.

I made a box for the card to be presented in using thick blue card and Prima paper.

All the flowers and leaves are made using DooHickey dies cut from the same blue card and Prima paper with the edges either inked or distressed with sandpaper. I made a band for the middle using a Martha Stewart punch on the edges.

Thank you for visiting as always and I'll be back soon with a post about the gift that went with this card :)

Little Christmas

Hi everyone and I hope your week is going well so far. I have set of cards to share today with the gorgeous new Little Christmas collection stamps Cozy Christmas Bear, Tilda with a cute lamb and Coco with present. They're all watercoloured with watercolour crayons and markers and then cut out with a circular nestabilities die.

I've made circular shaped cards to give the impression of a Christmas bauble with a snowflake embossed front piece, a scalloped nestie circle behind the image, a punched snowflake and a DooHickey die cut snowflake. The embossing and all edges of the card have been swiped with iced spruce distress ink and I've added some sparkly pearly embellishments to the snowflakes and pretty wired ribbon.

Tilda's Town have a challenge of vintage this week and I'm entering my card set into that.

Goosebump Tilda

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely weekend! A tag shaped card to share today using the sweet Goosebump Tilda from the Turning Leaves Collection. The colouring is with watercolours with some doodling over it and I've then cut her out and mounted her over the background with glue gel.

The tag card was easy to make using a corner punch on the top corners and cropodile punch for the centre hole. I embossed the card with a Tim Holtz brickwork embossing folder and swiped over the raised brickwork with vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink pads.

The window/shutters/flower window box are Memory Box die cuts all coloured with distress inks/acrylic paint. Behind the window there's some muslin fabric for a curtain and to finish off I added a punched grass border, punched flowers with pearl centres, a punched and watercoloured butterfly, ribbon and a chit chat sticker sentiment.

I'm entering my card into the Ribbon Girl Card Challenge where the current challenge is bingo. I've chosen the top line acrosse of ribbon - pearls - image.

Little Christmas collection 2012

Hi everyone, hope you had a good start to the week. Here are two of the beautiful new angel Tilda's from the upcoming "Little Christmas' Collection 2012 which are on pre-order in many of our favourite Magnolia retailers :). This is Dancing with stars Tilda on the left side and Little Tilda on the right.

I've made two little gift bags using the Sizzix Tim Holtz gift bag die and kraft card. The stamping was done directly onto the bags before they were put together and I've coloured with pencils this time. I've used two Magnolia snowflake stamps to make the background which were stamped in black. There's pretty ribbon, lots of stickles in silver and holly red and also some chit chat stickers and Papermania glitter circles.

I'm entering the Tilda's Town challenge which this week is to name your technique. I suppose there's a technique to colouring on kraft card so that's technique one and I've embellished with glitter glue inside the stamped snowflakes so I'll have that as my second technique :).

Thanks as always for your lovely comments and sorry if I haven't managed to reciprocate just yet. Enjoy your evening :)

Summer Board Book

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend! I have a board book to share today with a summer theme of things Tilda and Edwin do in the holidays :).
The cover: Tilda is exploring and checking on the bug life.

Picking some strawberries.

Riding her horse in the countryside.

Picking some flowers.

A day at the beach.

The board book is a Woodware 6 x 6 scalloped mini album which I've taken apart so that I have another three pages to make another some time. I was going for a more illustrative painted style for the backgrounds on these images as you would see in a children's book with a flatter look to them.

All the pages are painted with DecoArt paints over some texture paste. The texture paste is highlighted afterwards with black paint and there's black and white pen doodling around the edges. The flowers are Magnolia DooHickey Daisy dies which have been cut from watercolour card and painted with watercolours as are all the images. I added faux stitching, cut up words in the thought bubble DooHickey die cuts and doodling with a fine nibbed black pen. The book rings which were originally silver were coloured with black alcohol ink.

Thanks as always for your lovely comments and enjoy your day. :)

Tilda with a gift for you

Hi everyone! A little gift tag that I've made to share today and with the gorgeous new 'Tilda with a gift for you'. I've stamped onto kraft card, coloured everything with pencils, added a bit of doodling/faux stitching, a chit chat sticker and bakers twine and like the one layer effect for a change.

I'm entering my tag into the Ribbon Girl colour challenge which this month has a beautiful inspiration photo as the colour source.

Thank you as always for your lovely comments which I appreciate very much.

Tilda in London ATC

Hi everyone! Hope you had a good weekend and if you're here in the UK I hope you're still enjoying the extra long weekend we're having to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee!

I decided Princess Tilda should visit London to join in the celebrations and so she's dressed in red, white and blue (coloured with distress and watercolour markers) and has a background of London themed stamps from Indigo Blue and Artistic Outpost. I used a Magnolia DooHickey die to make the bunting and added doodling in red, white and blue around the edges and red, white and diamond gems.

I'm entering my ATC into the The Ribbon Girls challenge of use ribbon or lace hoping that the bakers twine counts as ribbon :)?  Craft Your Days Away challenge have a theme of red, white and blue as does the One Stop Card Challenge but with the addition of a crown or diamonds, so I'm entering those too.

Have a good day and as always, thank you for your lovely comments. Hoping to get back on track with commenting at some point :)
