Sugar Sweet

Hi everyone! I didn't manage to join in on our current 'back to school'  TOMIC challenge so I thought I'd show a project that I submitted for the current Chocolate issue of Magnolia Ink which didn't make it in. I was lucky enough to have other projects appear so that's great and it's nice to show it on the blog instead.

All the papers are from Magnolia so I'm not sure of the brands but I think one of them is Basic Grey Lime Rickey. I used two very sweet Tilda's and the sweets accessory stamp which I coloured with markers and all the tags and chipboard letters were covered with papers or painted. The sweets were coated with glossy accents and I added lots of star dust stickles and doodling with black and white pens elsewhere. The lovely lace flowers are also from Magnolia and I think I need to find out who makes them as they're very pretty :).

Well, have a good week and I hope you can join us on TOMIC this time.

TOMIC #12 - Recycling

Hi everyone! Our new challenge on TOMIC starts today and this week it's a special challenge as it's Magnolia Ink Magazine's birthday. There's a special prize waiting for the winner of this challenge so pop over to TOMIC to find our more, I hope you can join us :)
Our theme is recycling as Magnolia Ink is produced on recycled paper and I've recycled a gift box that contained bath goodies. The box was first painted and on the lid I glued tissued paper that I stamped with the Magnolia Roses stamp and red Archival ink. over the top of the paper I added some crackle glaze, more paint, stickles, texture paste, angel fibres, metallic paste and pearl pen pearls. I stamped the sweet Magnolia Chinese Tilda onto a tag cut from watercolour paper and coloured her with distress inks before gluing to the lid with some flowers, Magnolia Chandalier crystals, punched butterflies and ribbon.
Enjoy your day :).

Magnolia Garden Tilda

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. It's the start of a new challenge on TOMIC today and the challenge is about masking. I hope you'll pop over there to see the gorgeous examples of masking from my DT friends and a lovely tutorial from Camilla.

I stamped the sweet Magnolia Garden Tilda and the Old Oak Tree masked together to make the scene and Butterfly dreams paper for  the background.

Have a good day today and thank you as always for your lovely comments, I always appreciate them.

TOMIC Challenge # 9 - make a round card

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the weekend. A new challenge starts today on TOMIC and this week our theme is to make a round card. There's some wonderful inspiration from my design team friends, we hope you can join us and be in the with the chance of winning a gorgeous prize from Magnolia and being one of our top 5.

I'v cut my round card from watercolour paper and continued my painted scene with Magnolia Explore Tilda right to the edge of the card where I've added a rainbow of eyelets all around the edge :). There's lots of stardust stickles and the 'wishing you rainbows..' sentiment which is now my favourite as it can be used for so many occasions.

Have a lovely day today :)

TOMIC #6 - Make a Scene (dimensional)

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend :). It's a new challenge starting on TOMIC today and this week the theme is 'make a scene (dimensional). As you'll see from all the gorgeous inspiration from my DT friends there are lots of ways to add dimension to a scene card and there's also a lovely step card tutorial from our lovely Tanja. I hope you can join us.

I've made a diorama card which is basically a box with valley/mountain folded sides. The advantage of the sides is that elements can be added at each level to create the dimension. I've used Edwin on his bicycle and Tilda with lace jeans which I've coloured with pencils. I used the heart swirl DooHickey die to make the trees branches, the DooHickey Lovely Fence and the Peony Petals die to make the fabric flower.

Have a good day today :)

I've used the sweet Magnolia Tilda in rubber boots, she's coloured with pencils and cut out. My easel card was made using a nestabilities labels die, I've used the gorgeous DooHickey dies 'heart swirl branch', 'peony petals' and 'swirly butterfly' and one of the new Magnolia  6 x 6 pretty papers. There's lots of stardust stickles and some hand dyed ribbon and some rolled roses to decorate.

Enjoy your day :).

I've stamped the sweet Magnolia Tilda with bird for my flower shaped card and coloured her with markers. I've also added a DooHickey die cut fence, Sizzix Alterations die cuts and some hand dyed seam binding. My shimmer is from Stardust Stickles glitter glue and a spray of Pearl glimmer mist over everything and I have pearls at the corners.

Have a good Monday :)

I die cut my card base with a GoKreate die from kraft card then cut the with the die next size down and used this to stamp and colour Tilda and the cactus with pencils for the CCT element. I added swirl roses that I die cut using a sizzix die for the PPTW element and then decorated with eyelets, twine, punched leaves, pearl pen pearls, rub on letters and black and white gel pen doodling.

Beautiful Tilda

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well and had a good weekend. A card today using Beautiful Tilda and very aptly named I think because she is and probably my new favourite :D! She's coloured with distress inks, some cobalt blue water colour paint and I've painted a flower scene around her. The card is a gatefold style made from kraft card and die cut using a GoKreate die. The patterned paper is by Magnolia and I die cut the butterfly twice using the gorgeous new DooHickey butterfly, it's a very pretty lacey cut design, the wings and body are separate dies which is great as you can cut the body and the wings in different colours or patterns. I've added lots of pearls using pearl pens and lots of stardust stickles of course :).

I'm entering my card into the Magnolia Down Under Challenge where this week the theme is 'So Krafty' and kraft card has to be used. I'm also entering Paperplay Challenges with a theme of 'show us your style' and distress ink colouring and techniques are my favourites so I think this card fits that. Paper Sundaes has a theme of magical and mythical so I think the card fits that too.

Apologies for not returning comments but we've been away on holiday, hope to catch up soon. Enjoy your evening :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope you're enjoying a lovely Easter Day and I have my one and only Easter project to show today using the sweet Tilda with newly Hatched chicken from the Hoppy Easter Collection 2010. Tilda is coloured with pencils on kraft card and I've used the pretty Mini Magnolia butterfly paper in the background. There are die cut layers and a die cut frame and the Magnolia Easter sentiment is recessed. Theres lots of punched flowers, butterflies (it took a while :D) and paper daffodils, pearls and sparkle too.

To make my egg and egg cup I used a styrofoam egg and covered it in the flowers, made centres with a pearl pen and a little stand for it to sit in from a strip of paper made into a circle. Does it still look like an egg? I think it's lost it's overall shape because I made the little stand to place it in. I used a blossom from my miniature lilac bush in the background, it's so pretty, smells wonderful and is very early to flower this year.

I'm entering my project into PaperPlay Challenges with a theme of Easter time, Magnolia Stamp Lovers challenge of 'flowers' and Paper Sundeas Sunday Toppings where the toppings are sparkle, pearls, die cuts and yellow.

Enjoy the day and how much chocolate have you eater? :D

Flower Pot Tilda

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good week and if you're in the UK enjoying the gorgeous weather? A card today using the beautiful Flower Pot Tilda, definitely my favourite at the moment :) and this card was sent to my sweet friend Kim for her Birthday :), so now I can add it to my blog and scrape in on the challenge at Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is 'weather inspired' and I think Tilda is enjoying a spring walk in the countryside! The challenge at Stamptacular Sunday is 'use your favourite Magnolia stamp' so I'm entering that too.

I've also used the spring fence stamp and masked the two together. all the painting is done with distress inks and I've added some handmade fabric flowers, paper roses and embossed the card layers under the image with a Crafts Too butterfly embossing folder.

Enjoy your evening and thank you as always for your lovely comments.

Friday, 1 April 2011

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good week and thank goodness, it's nearly the weekend :). I'm entering my card today into the MDU Shabby Chic challenge and hopefully I have enough white for it to qualify, well there are lots of light colours anyway :D. I've used the sweet 'Tilda with daffodil' from the new collection and painted her with distress inks. The card has Webster's Pages paper and I cut the Doo Hickey tag from the paper too as I liked the sentiment.

Have a good Friday.
