Lucia 2012

Hi everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend. A card to share today with the gorgeous new special Lucia stamp, she's really sweet and just how I imagine Lucia would be. I've painted her with distress ink markers amd watercolour markers and painted in my own Christmas tree background.

I used up a scrap of patterned paper for the background layer and DooHickey die cut flourish so I can't remeber the brand and I decorated with lots of stardust stickles, Magnolia gold berries, paper roses, lace, a wooden snowflake, pearl pen pearls, faux stitching and the peg letter stamps stamped sentiment 'rejoice'.

I'm entering my card into the challenge at Tilda's Town which is 'Anything Goes', Marvelous Magnolia's has a theme of 'Non-traditional colours - Christmas theme' and I'm hoping my mainly navy and cream colours will fit that. The challenge at Cute Card Thursday is 'girls only' so I'm entering that too.

Christmas puppy

Hi everyone, hope you're having a nice evening. A Magnolia card to share today with the gorgeous Tilda with puppy and she's very sweet and a Tilda that can be used all year round which is lovely.

I've coloured with distress ink and watercolour markers and crayons and edged the image panel with gathered twigs distress ink which is my new favourite brown! I made an easel card and used a Tim Holtz baroque die for one of the layers under the image panel. The base card and mats are kraft card that I've stamped with a Magnolia Christmas song background stamp and sponged with DI. The patterned paper is Magnolia and all the edges have been distressed before adding it to the card. I've made a panel using the merry christmas sentiment as the easel stopper and this has been punched with an inverted corner punch to give a book place effect.
To decorate I've added lots of Magnolia DooHickey die cuts, star dust stickles glitter glue, paper flowers, faux stitching, doodling, pearl pen dots, seam binding ribbon and glitted die cut stars.

I'm entering my card into the Magnolia-licious challenge which is to 'add stickles or glitter', Cute Card Thursday's challenge of Starry, Starry night, Midweek Magnolia's challenge of 'oh Christmas tree', Marvellous Magnolia's challenge of 'traditional Christmas colours' and Tilda's Town's challenge of 'anything goes'.

Christmas tree ornaments

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well so far. At Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week there's a lovely challenge to make a Christmas ornament and as I've had this idea and the styrofoam ornaments for a while I decided to make a set with a little gift basket to put them in. I originally saw this idea on Pinterest done with news or book paper and thought it was a lovely.

I've used white tissue paper to cover the styrofoam which I stamped with the Magnolia Christmas song background and a Magnolia snowflake stamp in black ink. The paper was torn up and glued onto the forms with gel medium and while still wet I added lots chunky glass glitter and some white crackle paint on the round bauble. Embellishing has been done with Magnolia DooHickey pointsettia, fir branches, swirl and snowflake die cuts, Magnolia silvery berries and with some little painted wood embellishments and rusty bells. I used button twine held into the tops of the ornaments with various stick pins.

The box is a very straight forward design made from Magnolia Christmas paper and punched white bazzil card for the insert and the handle. I added lots of red paper tissue shred for the ornaments to rest in.
