TOMIC 37

Hi everyone! A new challenge on TOMIC starts today and this week there's a recipe to follow! . More details on TOMIC, I hope you can join us and be in the running for a gorgeous prize from Magnolia.

I created a card shape for my die cutting machine and cut the patterned papers to layer on top. Tilda with her rose is very sweet and I think can be used for many occasions. I watercoloured Tilda then cut her out  together with the sentiment which is a part of the sweet wonderful you stamp. Flowers and gems were my two types of embellishment for this one.

Enjoy your day. :)

TOMIC 35 - Valentine + heart

Hi everyone and I hope you're having a good week so far. A new challenge starts today at TOMIC with a theme of Valentine + heart, so there has to be Valentine text and a heart somewhere on your creation. I hope you can join us this week, as always there's a gorgeous prize to be won from Magnolia and lots of gorgeous creations from my DT friends over on the blog.

I've used beautiful 'Tilda with cozy heart' another gorgeous Tilda from the 'Sweet, Crazy Love' collection and I've water coloured her, cut her out and added stickles for sparkle. I designed the card base with the word 'love' as the front of the card for my electronic die cutter and cut the base from white card then the layers from Magnolia paper. I also added the Doohickey 'Romantic Lace' border as the back layer of my card with pearl strings, flowers, pearl pen dots and the heart punch waste from the border die to decorate. Another one of my favourite Tilda's [there are so many of my favourites :D], she's so lovely to colour.

Enjoy your day :),

TOMIC 34 - Oval card and embossing

Hi everyone and whoops, this post failed to publish this morning! A new challenge starts on TOMIC today and our theme is to make an oval card and use heat or dry embossing. I hope you can join us this time and as always there's some beautiful inspiriation from my DT friends.

I've used sweet Valentino, coloured with distress inks and cut out. My oval card is embossed using a Crafts Too hearts embossing folder and I've sanded back the hearts to reveal the kraft core of the coredinations card. I used the Doohickey 'so wrapped lovely' die for the heart elements which are cut from silver glitter card and I trimmed out the hearts from the die cut piece then layered them over another oval of embossed card with some sizzex die cut numbers. The Doohickey romantic lace was used to cut more glitter card to edge the second oval and I trimmed slits into the border once cut to make fit around the oval.

Enjoy your day :)

Tilda with Peony tails

Hi everyone! A card today with sweet Tilda with Peony tails from the Magnolia Sweet, Crazy Love 2012 collection. Tilda is water coloured and once again sitting in flowers :). I've used kraft card for the card base and matting and cut the top of the card with the Magnolia DooHickey romantic lace die. The patterned paper is Magnolia, I think from last summer and I used the DooHickey cloud tag die from the flag and clouds set to stamp the sentiment from the Lazy Summer Days collection. All the flowers apart from the roses are from Magnolia, I've added some seam binding and a pearl stick pin underneath them then a filigree metal corner and some pearls to finish.

I'm entering my card into the Everybody Art Challenge where this week the challenge is 'shabby'.

Magnolia Siblings

Hi everyone! If you celebrate Christmas I hope that you had a lovely time and that Santa was good to you :).

I have a card to show today with the Magnolia 'cuddly siblings' stamp from the new 'sweet crazy love' collection and aren't they the sweetest :)? It's another beautiful collection from Pauline and I can't wait to colour them all!

Cuddly Siblings have been painted with distress inks and then cut out using a Sizzix die, mini cabinet card. I've also used the beautiful new papers from the collection, mini cloudy pink hearts and mini cloudy turquoise hearts, they're very pretty. All the layers have been faux stitched with a pink glitter gel pen, edged with vintage photo distress ink then glittered with stickles star dust glitter glue. I added lots of punched flowers which are punched from pink, white and blue glitter card with pearl pen centres and made some corner embellishments from clay which is highlighted with blue paint.

I'm entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge of 'anything goes' and Dutch Dare Card Challenges with a theme of 'use your favourite things', well Tilda and Edwin, distress ink, glittery card, pearl pens, stickles and faux stitching are a few of my favourite things used on this card.

TOMIC # 29 - Snowflake symphony in purple

Hi everyone and today is the start of the new challenge on TOMIC with a theme this week of 'snowflake symphony in purple', so the creation must have snowflakes and the colour purple. I hope you can join us if you have the time :),

I've made some clay ornaments cut with cookie cutters, stamped with Magnolia snowflake stamps and when dry painted with acrylic paints and strung with dyed seam binding. I think these would make pretty little gifts and as it's so easy and enjoyable to make them, there'll be more for the Christmas tree for next year.

Enjoy your day!

Edwin with presents

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good week and nearly ready for Christmas :)! I've had a go at a free standing pop up card which is a card style I haven't tried before and very much enjoyed. Of course I forgot to take a photo of the card folded down :) but here are a couple of extra photographs and one shows how it looks from the side.

Edwin is coloured with distress inks and cut out with a nestabilities die then mounted on the pop up portion of the card. The box shaped piece is stamped with the Magnolia Yuletide sentiment stamp and I cut the borders with a DooHickey lace die then added another die cut Magnolia Merry Christmas sentiment to the front, the sentimets were stamped with Distress Ink in Iced Spruce. I added some punched holly leaves, folded ribbon and Magnolia crystal stamps in front of the images and this style of card gives a little ledge at the front which is perfect for flowers etc.

I'm entering my card into:
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Don't look at the light
The Pink Elephant - Snowflakes and sparkle
ABC Christmas Challenge - Yippee, Christmas is almost here
Winter Wonderland - Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Magnolia Christmas Calendar - Day 8

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 8 of the Magnolia Christmas Calendar and it's my pleasure to be hosting today with your chance to win a big prize from Magnolia! Each day of December a new window will be opened on the Calendar and your starting point is the Magnolia Inspiration Blog where each day you'll be directed to the next calendar page and a creation from a member of the Design Team, I hope you've joined in so far, my team mates have made some very beautiful Christmas projects.

Here's my framed Christmas scene with Edwin off to deliver some Christmas presents and Tilda bringing home the small Christmas tree :). My image is coloured with pencils and I've masked the scene with Edwin and the Christmas door from the current Sweet Christmas collection and Tilda with fir tree and the trees background stamp from the older Christmas collections. The snowflakes are cut from glitter card with punches and the Magnolia DooHickey snowflake and attached after painting my frame with matte white paint.

I'm taken back with this little scene to the old style advent calendars I shared with my Sister when we were little, you opened the window each day to find the little scene inside. We had to take turns opening the window and we were very excited about it, so it's a little bit different these days now that there's a calendar for each child and chocolate or a present too :D.

Please leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning the gorgeous prize from Magnolia. Only one entry for each person please so that we keep the Christmas spirit :) and I will randomly pick a winner and announce it on Friday. Also please contact me as soon as possible if you're the winner so that I can pass your details to Magnolia.

Good Luck and enjoy your day!

TOMIC 26 - Vintage and Lace

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend! It's the start of a new challenge on TOMIC today and this week our theme is 'Vintage and Lace' with this definition of vintage:

"The vintage style is very popular, and it is simply to make your card or
project look old. You can often find distressed & inked edges, laces, roses,
notepapers ect. on a vintage project."

I've used ice Tilda again for this card, I think she's very sweet and this time I've coloured her with distress inks and used the snowflakes from the Sweet Christmas collection in the background. I dyed my white lace with glimmer spray and glued it around the image panel for a frame and the DooHickey die cut snowflake and punched snowflake were also coloured with glimmer spray as was the seam binding ribbon. The card was cut using a GoKreate frame die and I've used gorgeous Bo Bunny Christmas paper to cover it, it's very sparkly with glitter snowflakes. To finish off I added gems, a little rusty bell, pearl pen dots and everything was edged with vintage photo distress ink.

I hope you can join us in the the challenge this week, as always there's a gorgeous prize to be won from Magnolia and lots of inspiration from my DT friends.

Enjoy your day :)

DYSU GDT - Paris Tilda in the country

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good week! Today I have a card to show as this week's Guest Designer on Do You Stack Up challenge blog where the challenge theme is grass. Thank you very much for inviting me ladies, it's been a real pleasure to join you in the challenge this week and I hope that there'll be lots of entries for this lovely theme. I've painted a little grassy scene for Paris Tilda to stand in.......I think she wanted a break from the city :).

I've painted Tilda and the scene with distress inks, Tilda was painted separately and cut out and the background was painted then die cut using a GoKreate die. I've also used the Magnolia 'loving wishes' sentiment which I've cut apart. I added pearl pen dots, stickles and gel pen to decorate and it was nice to make a non Christmas card although I reallllly need to be making Christmas cards :D!

Enjoy your day!

TOMIC 25 - Animal Mania

Hi everyone, Monday again and time for another challenge at TOMIC! This week our challenge is Animal Mania and to use any Magnolia animal and Magnolia patterned paper on the project. I hope you can join us in the challenge and as always there's a gorgeous prize on offer from Magnolia Stamps.

I've used the Sweet Christmas Tilda and Christmas hat from the Sweet Christmas collection, Magnolia with butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams 2011 collection and the Merry Christmas ticket stamp from the 2008 Christmas collection. Tilda and the hat are masked together and I stamped Magnolia without her butterfly before colouring with pencils. I've used Magnolia Sweet Rainbow paper, 'Wild Red' which is perfect for Christmas too and I've also used the Spruce branch and snowflake Doohickey dies, I love them both, they're so delicate and pretty. The kraft paper under the image is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and the raised parts are highlighted with white ink. To decorate I added stardust stickles, pearl pen dots, seam binding ribbon, tinsel, a star pin, and a rusty bell.

TOMIC 24 Use a paper bag and get inspired by the photo

dala_horse

Hi everyone! A new challenge starts over on TOMIC today which is to use a paper bag together with an inspiration photo. I've decorated a kraft paper gift bag using the gorgeous Ribbon Tilda (love her plaited pigtales!), the Christmas love holly and the sweet snowflakes stamps from the Sweet Christmas Dreams collection. The bag has been stamped and embossed with the holly and snowflakes stamps and Tilda has been coloured with pencils on kraft card. I made a border for the image using the Swirly Lace doohickey die and die cut some little horses to go along the bottom. To decorate I made some shabby chic flowers from Magnolia paper, some roses from Bazzil card, die cut snowflakes and decorative elements.

I hope you can join us for the challenge, as always there's a gorgeous prize on offer from Magnolia.

Enjoy your day!
